Hidden Forest

Memories of my childhood growing up in a small town in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia were the inspiration for this piece. I remember how the mountain forests looked, smelled, and sounded, especially in the spring and fall. They seemed so big, beautiful and peaceful to me when I was a little girl. This artwork includes three 2-inch by 2-inch acrylic and paper pieces floated on three 4x4 inch cradled wood panels, then attached to a cradled canvas panel covered in tissue paper and acrylic paint. Additional images capture the shimmer of leaves on the cradled canvas panel background. These were created using gold paint and several leaf stamps. The painting continues around the sides and it arrives ready to hang.
